On the potential of integrating coaching and positive psychology in our practice
In this keynote, Christian will discuss the integration of coaching and positive psychology based on his experiences of working with colleagues at University of East London to integrate the MSc in Applied Positive Psychology and the MSc in Coaching Psychology. He will then explore the latest thinking about how coaching and positive psychology complement one another before considering how such integration can have an impact on the practice of executive coaches worldwide.
Prof. Christian van Nieuwerburgh is Professor of Coaching and Positive Psychology at the University of East London in the UK. He is also Executive Director of Growth Coaching International, an Australian-based consultancy and coaching provider for the education sector, Honorary Fellow at the Centre of Positive Psychology of the Melbourne Graduate School of Education at the University of Melbourne (Australia) and Visiting Professor at the University of Bergamo (Italy). Christian is recognised as a thought-leader in the field of coaching in education, and has published numerous articles, book chapters and books on the topic. He regularly delivers keynote addresses globally and undertakes research into the integration and application of coaching and positive psychology in professional contexts.
